Miraggio cast marble sanitary ware repair. Video

The main feature of cast marble sanitary ware is that it is easily repairable. For example, ceramics familiar to many cannot boast of such a property, cracks and chips remain forever, and you will only have to put up with it or buy a new product. It is very difficult to damage a cast marble sink or bathtub because it is a strong and durable material. But if the crack did form, you can repair the sanitary ware  yourself, without the help of a specialist Here's a simple video tutorial on how to quickly remove damage from a cast marble Miraggio sink.

THE REPAIR KIT INCLUDES:

  • Gelcoat 20 g
  • Hardener 10g
  • Polishing paste 30 g
  • Polishing block
  • Sanding paper (P1000, P1500, P2500)
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Alcohol napkin - 2 szt.
  • Polishing cloth - 1 szt.
  • Wooden stick - 2 szt.
  • Syringe - 2 szt.
  • Bowl for the mixture - 2 szt.

SEQUENCE OF WORK:

Step 1: Put on the supplied gloves. Safety is the most important thing!

Step 2: Sand the damaged area with P1000 sandpaper. If the chip is large, clean it with a sharp object, for example, a knife.

Step 3: Take an alcohol wipe and wipe the prepared area. In this way, you will get rid of dust and degrease the product.

Step 4: Open the container with gelcoat (GELCOAT) and draw the required amount of material with a syringe. In the video, we took 10 ml of gelcoat.

Step 5: Add 1-1.5% of the hardener (HARDENER) from the total volume of the mixture. For this, we used the second syringe.

Step 6: Stir the mixture thoroughly with a wooden stick for 30 seconds.

Step 7: Using a stick, apply the required amount of mixture to the prepared area. It is necessary to apply a little more than the size of the damage, because the mixture decreases in volume when it dries. Allow the repaired area to dry for 4-8 hours (time depends on the extent of the damage).

Step 8: Wet the P1000 sandpaper sufficiently before use. Wrap the sanding block with polishing paper and use circular movements to remove the rest of the mass that was applied. As a result, you will get a flat surface. After that, repeat the same manipulations with fine-grained sandpaper P2500.

Step 9: Wash the repair area with water without adding detergents. Or wipe the repair site with an alcohol wipe.

Step 10: Polish the repaired area using a polishing cloth or paste (POLISHING PASTE) in circular motions.

The sink looks perfect and is ready to use. As you can see, nothing complicated.
